Speaking about the cover Blake Evaristo said: “When this song came out last year we very quickly became obsessed with it and listened to it all the time while on tour. We’d joked around about covering it and ended messing around with the progression at practice one day it was cool so we went with it and it came out super fun”.
 
Alex Melton also spoke about working with Action/Adventure and said: “I’ve been a fan of Action/Adventure for a while now, I love their energy and the Pulling Focus EP absolutely bangs. I was ecstatic to be able to sing with them on this cover. We split up the parts between the three of us and it’s such a great concept jumping back and forth between the vocalists. The video details specific discrimination that each member has faced as a group of entirely BIPOC while playing at pop-punk shows. Within three weeks the guys had one million-plus views of the video and an email from their dream label in their inbox.
