Antelope Valley, CA – Dreamy, Alternative, Shoegaze band BED, have announced signing with SoCal label Wiretap Records to re-release their debut Self Titled album and prepare for new music in the coming months.
The Antelope Valley band self-released their debut album earlier this year in February. Recorded with Alex Estrada at Pale Moon Ranch and mastered by Jack Shirley at The Atomic Garden Recording Studio. Their Self Titled album blends elements of shoegaze, 90’s Alternative, and dreamy guitar tones to show the band’s influences from such bands like Title Fight, Beach Goons, Deftones, Smashing Pumpkins, Surf Curse and more.
On the heels of the label signing, the band has announced a full US tour supporting Beach Goons, that puts them across the US running from October 18th through November 12th. In addition, the band is on the bill for Nothing Fest on Saturday and Sunday, October 15-16 at Garden Amphitheater along with Together Pangea, Beach Fossils, Destroy Boys, Mexican Slum Rats, Death Lens and many more.
BED began as a self-titled bedroom project in 2015 by frontman Ebed “bed” Moreno. “At my first show, I didn’t have a band at the time, so my band was literally my laptop plugged into a PA and me on guitar and vocals. and people actually liked it.” Then after being asked to play more shows, Bed finally put together a band and started playing DIY backyard shows that were put together by himself and/or others in the local music scene.
“Eventually those backyards turned to venues and the crowds got bigger. We really hit a shift when we had the privilege of going on tour with one of my favorite bands, Beach Goons, and our first show was at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles-sold out to 1500 people. I can confidently say we put on our best performance that night. Since then, we’ve been going up. especially after the album dropped.”
When asked about recording experience, (Bed’s Self Titled), bed comments “I think my favorite aspect of the album would be that you finally get to hear the energy and feel we output into this project. Never in a million years could I program a drum machine to rip the way Axel does or do whatever black magic Joel does on bass. Im’ more than proud of the work we all put in and could not thank Pale Moon Ranch (FKA Pale Moon Studios) and Jack from Atomic Garden for making us sound better than we could have dreamed.”
