After so many excellent singles, several extended play releases such as Storytellers, Darker Days, and Runaway, and an outstanding debut full-length album called Alive In Wonderland, Rhyl-based quartet Chasing Shadows returns with another exceptional single that will unquestionably appeal to all the fans of flawlessly executed indie rock music. Like their previous works, Lost shines bright with brilliant ideas and mind-blowing musicianship. It serves as an appropriate continuation to the singles this profoundly creative band unleashed in recent years, but it also showcases some innovations in songwriting, composing, and producing. Perhaps Chasing Shadows explores the fundamentals of the contemporary indie rock sound, but you’ll notice how other complementary music genres like alternative, hard rock, and classic rock inspired them to write such a mesmerizing song. However, these additional elements serve as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details that undoubtedly uplift this composition on an entirely new level without changing the primary sonic direction.

The band put a lot of time and ideas into Lost, and the effort is vividly hearable through their jaw-dropping musicianship. This number carries many qualities, such as exceptional vocal performance, catchy synth leads, cleverly assembled dualities between lead and rhythm guitar, equally complex basslines, and moderate rhythmic sequences built upon well-accentuated beats, breaks, fills, and other percussive acrobatics. You’ll also notice that Chasing Shadows paid a lot of attention to the song structure, so every segment included in this song carries some impressive orchestrations that will force you to repeat this number over again. Personally, I find beforementioned guitar dualities as one of many highlights of the Lost, mainly because their tremendous performance gives more complexity, energy, and depth to the song. Every involved band member plays a significant role in this mesmerizing sonic equation, and you should immediately check out this composition if you’re looking for flawlessly executed indie rock music. Lost is available on all streaming services. Don’t miss it.
