He was seldom interviewed outside of the most cultish fanzines. He rarely appeared on television, and his music was not played on the radio. In fact, Rozz Williams never had a hit record, and while there was a period, in the early-to-mid-1990s, when it felt as though he was about to explode into the mainstream, widespread acceptance was never Rozz’s goal. What he wanted above all was to be seen as an artist in the purest sense of that term.
