New York rocker Dmitry Wild released new double single “Rock-n-Roll is My Business,” accompanied by the B-side “Son Of A Gun.” These two compositions showcase Wild’s songwriting, composing, recording, and producing abilities on full display. Perhaps rock ‘n’ roll is Wild’s primary weapon of choice, but it’s certainly not the only one. Quite the contrary, you’ll stumble upon many other complementary styles like garage rock, slacker rock, blues, etc. Of course, the artist remains loyal to the primary sonic direction, while these additional genres serve as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details that unquestionably uplift these two compositions on an entirely new level. These experimentations resulted in a catchy composition worth repeating over and over again.

As soon as you press play, you’ll notice how different eras of rock music inspired Dmitry Wild to write these songs. His music resonates with late fifties rock ‘n’ roll, sixties garage rock, and seventies blues, but he also incorporates some eighties, nineties, and contemporary elements. Through Rock-n-Roll is My Business, Wild explains how rock ‘n’ roll became his business after finding himself surrounded by the businessmen. Empowered by his sincere, confident, hypnotic vocal performance, this number showcases all the vital elements of rock sound at once. Besides his flawlessly performed vocal harmonies, you’ll hear how crunchy, semi-distorted chord progressions and equally detailed, warm-sounding basslines serve as a perfect backdrop for his vocal maneuvers, while the moderate, well-accentuated rhythmic sequences offer groove and pace. The additional sax performance spices things at particular moments, but this instrument shines the brightest alongside the remainder of the brass section during the choruses.

Son Of A Gun combines the elements of blues, rock ‘n’ rock, garage rock, and slacker rock. It’s an excellent number that perfectly complements Rock-n-Roll is My Business, but it also carries a slightly different, much calmer ambiance. Like in the previous track, Dmitry Wild focuses on a rock ‘n’ roll base, empowered by the precisely performed guitar riffs, chord progressions, and themes. You’ll notice how the low-end notes support these sonic maneuvers while the brass section comes as an additional decorative layer over the top. The moderate drumming performance once again keeps everything in line with precise beats, emphasized hi-hats, and other rhythmic acrobatics.

Both compositions sound rich and luxurious, thanks to the many layers of complex instrumentations. Wild thoroughly planned every segment of each song, so you’ll have so much fun listening to this exceptional double single. Rock-n-Roll is My Business is available on all streaming services. Don’t miss it.
