Eva Under Fire released their own version of War Pigs, cover of the iconic Black Sabbath anthem.

This version of War Pigs bursts with new life thanks to Eva Marie’s warm, yet gritty, vocals and the backing of a majestic instrumental re-imagination of the song.

Frontwoman Eva Marie comments: “This cover pays tribute to yet another legend who has inspired us. My early days of falling in love with rock music included OzzFest and singing along to Black Sabbath on the way to school in the back of my parents minivan so it’s a bit of a full circle moment for me personally. It’s crazy that the lyrics in this song still ring true and are relevant today. Although the lyricism highlights the sad truth about the power hungry evils of the world, I also think it speaks volumes about how timeless this song really is. As a blue collar slave to the grind, I wanna thank Ozzy Osborne and Black Sabbath for this one. Generations later, we feel heard because of your song”.

The single launch follows from an incredibly successful 2022, which saw Eva Under Fire release their long-awaited debut album Love, Drugs & Misery  featuring tracks with guest performances from Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills, Jonathan Dörr (formerly of Ego Kill Talent) and From Ashes To New. Although they had to push their album back due to the pandemic, the band saw great success with singles such as Blow (ft. Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills), which is featured in The Retaliators soundtrack and now boasts over 8M streams across the globe, and the Sno Babies soundtrack single Heroin(e)  earning over 24M streams.

Eva Under Fire are also ready to embark on their first ever overseas tour, as special guest to Skillet. Eva Under Fire is an excellent live act, having toured as special guest to the likes of: Asking Alexandria, Atreyu and NOTHING MORE, and promise to deliver fiery and incendiary shows across the UK and Europe this April.

“We’re a blue-collar garage band from down river Michigan,” says Eva Marie, lead vocalist and namesake for Eva Under Fire, the five-piece southeast Detroit rock ‘n’ roll group that burst onto the scene with their debut Better Noise Records album, Love, Drugs & Misery. Their Top 10 Active Rock airplay smash, “Blow” featuring Ice Kills Nine’s Spencer Charnas, was on the original soundtrack to the cult horror smash, The Retaliators, whose opening scene featured Eva herself in serious peril.  Pandora Radio recently named the band an “Artist to Watch” in 2023.

Eva Marie and lead guitarist Rob Lyberg are married co-founders of the group – which also includes guitarist Chris Slapnik, bassist Ed Gawlik and drummer Corey Newsom, all of whom have known each other from high school, playing together in numerous bar bands along the way. They get the name – and most of its lyrical content – from Eva’s turbulent childhood, which she recalls powerfully in “Heroin(e)” on the new album: “I can’t save you (no)/I can’t change you now/Save your own skin/I’m not your heroine.”

Post-Covid, Eva Under Fire hit the road in spring of 2021, performing with Buckcherry, Skillet and Theory of a Deadman, among others, before heading out for their debut European tour in April which will see them hitting the U.K. and Europe for the first time, including Germany where “Blow” was Top Three in radio airplay, before returning to the U.S. for summer festival dates.  Look for more covers and remixes on streaming services through the end of the year.

Notes Eva. “Our songs are written about what we experience and feel, so we’re organic in that way, but we’re definitely not afraid of those big pop melodies and hooks.”
