Pythies is a witchy grunge band from Paris (France), created by Lise.L.At the end of 2022, she grew into the idea of forming a new musical project, only led by women, and which includes the grunge culture of the 90s (L7, 7 year bitch, Babes in Toyland, Hole) and her taste for witchcraft. In January 2023, she met, through social media, the guitar player Thérèse La Garce and the drummer Anna B. Void the alchemy between these three is undeniable and Pythies was born.

These three very strong personalities make a fierce alliance : behind the drum, Anna brings a bit of craziness and a real wild and grunge energy; Thérèse, with her very fuzzy and punk guitar is a restless tigress; finally, Lise, who writes and composes all the songs, knows how to mix sensuality, melody and intense need to riot.

Their first EP, “Always Too Much” comes out in May 2023. The band then plays all over France and begin to set up many projects for the year 2024 (clip, London show, US tour for November).

Eclipse” is the third title of the band to ever come out. It was written in 2023 by Lise. Around the lunar eclipse of the 28th of October, a very important astronomical phenomenon. The song mixes the ”riot grrl” energy of the 90’s and astrology. Its fast BPM and catchy choruses show that Pythies knows how to charm you and make you dance.

The video that was made for the song is very sexy, while remaining strongly politically engaged. It is inspired by the “indie sleaze” fashion of the 2000’s, but with the Pythies touch the desire to give a new power to women.

Pythies are playing their first London date at Omeara on April 26th when they support The Velvet Hands. Lise from Pythies sings vocals on the forthcoming Velvet Hands release Chick Habit, a cover of a Serge Gainsbourg classic due for release on April 5th.
