Here’s another excellent vinyl record from a recent batch sent by Engineer Records. Kid You Not is one of those bands you should check out as soon as possible. They already have an luxurious discography consisting of four full-length albums, like Never Dull Movement, Home Again, Thanks I Hate It, and Here’s To Feelin’ Good All The Time. Of course, there are several singles, such as Fantastic Drugs And How To Take Them, Doomscrolling, The Longer It Isn’t Us The More It Will Happen, and Here’s To Feelin’ Good All The Time. This discography sounds even more impressive once you figure out these folks released all these recordings in just several years. I will talk about their latest full-length, released in collaboration between Engineer Records, Sell The Heart Records, and Bypolar Records.

Here’s To Feelin’ Good All The Time carries ten exceptional melodic punk rock compositions housed in a beautiful transparent red vinyl record. Kid You Not embrace the fundamentals of a contemporary punk rock sound, but other complementary subgenres decorate these songs even more. You’ll notice how these folks incorporated some of the finest properties borrowed from pop-punk, alternative, indie, and emo music. Perhaps indie rock dominates the most among all these additional elements, which undoubtedly serve as enhancements, accentuations, decorations, and other details usually hearable on best modern punk rock records. The band simultaneously sounds tight, powerful, heavy, and aggressive, but you’ll also hear their emotive and mellow side. Anyone into writing, composing, and producing music knows that’s a difficult task to maintain nowadays, especially after many other bands who have done it before. Still, Kid You Not sound fresh and unique, so their new full-length deserves your utmost attention.

The band invested so many brilliant ideas into Here’s To Feelin’ Good All The Time, and that’s hearable on each track. You can’t escape from all the leads, themes, melodies, riffs, arpeggiated and regular chord progressions while listening to this album, and it’s also jaw-dropping how some guitar dualities resonate with soothing and cathartic tones. Of course, there are chunky, massive low-end tones that give a bit more density and clarity to everything both guitars included in these compositions. The drummer keeps these tracks in moderate or half-time beats. His exceptional drumming performance consists of cleverly assembled rhythmic sequences decorated with many percussive acrobatics and accentuations, so you’ll need a couple of listening sessions to grasp them all. The semi-distorted lead vocal harmonies contribute another layer of aggression over these ear-appealing melodies, and there are also powerful back vocals included for those into anthemic choruses. Kid You Not thought about everything while assembling these songs, so Here’s To Feelin’ Good All The Time is an adequate record for anyone looking for perfectly executed melodic punk rock music.
