Indiana Bradley returns! Huzzah! The LA songwriter, whose frenetic Rats On Cocaine blessed our ears in October, has a new offering: “Animals”. Less frenzied and more introspective, the track’s sound hearkens back to a mellower time, particularly Mutations-era Beck, the cerebral musings of Tom Vek – and, if we’re really gonna deep dive into the archives: God Shuffled His Feet by Crash Test Dummies.
It’s a gorgeous, sparse track with Bradley’s unique baritone cutting deeply through our emotions. Philosophical and pensive, with a plodding bassline driving the gentle melody, this song serves as an existential lullaby.
“Animals is a conversation between the conscious self and the dream self, attempting to solve where their shared soul fits in the world and if it can achieve happiness before death,” he explains. “The simple words of a mother echo as a plea to be happy for her sake, if nothing else.”
The whimsical DIY video, which makes use of vintage stop-motion intercut with Indiana Bradley’s floating head, is a lovely illustration of dreamscape, collective consciousness, and astral travel.

Indiana Bradley’s style is authentic, melodic, and engaging. Having lived in dozens of countries from Argentina to Indonesia, stories accumulated and perceptions were made working as a journalist far from midwestern roots. He translates these experiences into driving guitars, rhythmic keys, and a lyrical tapestry meant to interpret life, death, good and evil.
Landing in Los Angeles five years ago, Indiana Bradley has released one LP, “Ghost Star,” and two live albums. He has played the club scene in L.A. from Silverlake to the Sunset Strip and recently returned from two tours in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, a hotbed of live music in South America. Having lived in dozens of countries from Argentina to Indonesia, Indiana Bradley accumulated a sophisticated worldview working as a journalist far from his Midwestern roots. He translates these experiences into driving guitars, rhythmic keys, and a lyrical tapestry meant to interpret life, death, good and evil.
Following the full EP release, Bradley, has another 6 song EP produced by “Ghost Star” collaborator Seth Olansky set to drop in early 2023.
