Lambrini Girls Drop New Single “Lads Lads Lads”

With just a month to go until their debut EP You’re Welcome out 19th May via Big Scary Monsters, Lambrini Girls share new single ‘Lads Lads Lads’ about toxic masculinity.

“In order to be a lad, make sure to follow the following guidelines: excessive drinking, harassing anyone with a pulse and starting fights. Most importantly, make sure to never talk about your feelings as this simply cannot be associated with manliness. Lad culture is the shit stain on the bathroom floor and toxic masculinity is the toilet paper that refuses to unstick from the shoe of society. Nobody wins.” says the band.

Known for their energetic live shows, the band are due to open for Iggy Pop for his Dog Day Afternoon at London’s Crystal Palace on 1st July, as well as their own headline tour in May/June, as well as a long list of live dates including The Great Escape, 2000 Trees, Truck Festival, Rebellion, and loads more.

Based in Brighton, Phoebe Lunny (Vocals/Guitar – she/they) and Lilly Macieira (Bass – she/they) have a strong artistic bond over their creative common ground – hot button societal issues combined with a biting, tongue in cheek lyrical style all their own, and have been included in the NME 100 as well as having attention from BBC Radio 1, So Young, Brooklyn Vegan, CLASH, The Line Of Best Fit, amongst others.

Their debut EP contains previous singles ‘Help Me I’m Gay’ which Phoebe used to come out to her mum, as well as the catcalling ‘White Van’ –  other tracks include ‘Boys In The Band’ that’s about calling out abusers in the scene, and ‘Terf Wars’ which is pretty simple – Transphobia has no place in feminism, whilst ‘Mr Lovebomb’ looks at altering behaviour in relationships. The vinyl will include two exclusive live tracks.

Lambrini girls formed in the swamplands underneath Skegness Butlins, a scene filled with toxicity, a severe lack of accountability and not enough gravy. Flying the nest with a dream to curate slut vibes nationwide, they became the gayest band to ever win 50 consecutive Eurovision contests in a row.

Due to their massive success, they now all share a planet near earth in order for them to raise their 150 babies collectively (the father of which, is Lilly’s pedalboard) however, they do still practise in Brighton so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Lambrini Girls hotspots e.g your local skip or police station.

Inspiration is drawn from the likes of Savages, Le Tigre, The Spice Girls and unresolved trauma; not only do Lambrini Girls plan on setting your bin on fire- they want to create spaces at shows for anyone who feels like there isn’t a place for them there already. No one deserves to feel uncomfortable, no one deserves to feel invisible, start conversations with your mates, never let anyone stop you existing authentically and most importantly: Gays to the front.

A long time staple of the Brighton scene, in 2021 the release of their first singles brought the band’s sonic barrage to a whole new circuit of ears and culminated late last year in the release of their well-received single ‘Help Me I’m Gay’ cementing their place as an unmissable new prospect in 2023 and with support from the likes of CLASH, NME, Kerrang! Magazine, So Young, Loudwire, BBC Radio 1, 5Live and BBC6 Music.

 Making a host of new fans with their incendiary live shows, the band have been announced for The Great Escape, 2000 Trees, and have also recently performed alongside the likes of Shame, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, and Gilla Band.

 Simply put, Lambrini Girls are here to take over the scene, one fizzy bottle at a time.
