After the critically acclaimed full-length called How Do You Think It Should Be, and series of singles such as Out Of Time, Waiting, Falling, Over Everything, Lions, Best Friends, and The Beer Song, Sturt Avenue are back with a brand new song. Talk is the eighth composition in a row from the series of singles launched in 2019 and the first track this year. It’s one of those numbers that will unquestionably appeal to all the indie folk fans. However, there’s always more than meets the eye. Besides the sheer dominance of indie folk, Sturt Avenue incorporates many complementary music genres that perfectly suit the song’s ambiance. Therefore, don’t be surprised if you stumble upon indie folk, alternative, country, classic rock and soft rock. These additions serve as more than necessary enhancements, accentuations, and decorations that uplift Talk on an entirely new level. Talk resonates with such a unique, beautiful, mesmerizing, and cathartic ambiance. Sturt Avenue thought about every sonic maneuver invested into this track, and just when you think that’s it, even more orchestrations show up in the mix. You’ll notice how the ear-appealing chord progressions perfectly match moderately distorted riffs. Both guitars continuously struggle for dominance, but the acoustic guitar is present since the beginning of this number, and alongside the drums, it shapes the ambiance for the remainder of the band. You’ll also notice how the bass guitar bursts with incredible low-end tones that give a bit more clarity to the riffs and chord progressions. But Sturt Avenue don’t stop there. The band also includes flute and violin leads that are present almost during the entire composition. The sound engineer/producer did an incredible job by flawlessly blending all the instruments together. Of course, nothing would sound so groovy and dynamic without appropriate rhythmic sequences built upon moderate beats, accentuations, and fills. The lead and back vocals are solely responsible for another layer of harmonies that improve the exceptional listening experience even more. As I said, Sturt Avenue thought about every possible detail while assembling Talk, so this number bursts with such a unique ambiance worth repeating all the time.
