Channeling low-budget B-movies, punk anarchy, and a Crazy World of Arthur Brown show, punk legends The Damned unleashes a spooky new song and video: “The Invisible Man”. Rife with the band’s signature fiery drums, garage rock guitar fuzz, The Captain’s smokin’ basslines, and maniacal laughter, it’s classic Damned with their classic wry humour intact.

Likewise, The Invisible Man‘s music video plot has all the hallmarks of a Hammer Horror classic: a mad scientist, Dave Vanian crooning in front of psychedelic oil projections, a devastating femme fatale, ominous syringes, and erstwhile thieves trying to steal a formula. Who will win?? (Certainly, it’s Martin Gooch, the director.)

Watch below:

“The Invisible Man” is the first single off The Damned’s twelfth studio album, Darkadelic, the band’s first album since 2018’s Evil Spirits. Produced by Thomas Mitchener, Darkadelic will be released via earMUSIC on April 28 on CD, vinyl, and digital formats, and is available for pre-order.

The band’s current lineup includes Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, Paul Gray, Monty Oxymoron, and new drummer William Granville-Taylor, although they have recently toured with the original lineup of Vanian, Captain Sensible, Brian James, and Rat Scabies, their first show together in more than three decades.

The Damned will tour in the UK and Europe through March and April, starting in Paris on the 3rd of March and making appearances in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, the Czech Republic, and more. They will play throughout the UK until April 20.
