Visceral Anatomy’s EP VOL. II focuses on the grit of EBM—with a punch. The duo of Hannah Avalon and Vincent Segretario’s insatiable appetite for the aggressive genre of dance music is apparent within the four tracks of their second release after the Modern Anguish EP in 2020. This time around, they’ve taken an approach that stems from their 1980s inspirations—such as Bigod 20 and Skinny Puppy—but inject it with a modern approach to EBM with its production and Avalon’s vocals comparable to ADULT. or Spike Hellis.

VOL. II begins with the energetic “World Stopped.” Both raucous and forceful, the track bleeds with a venom provided by Avalon’s vocal performance. “Isolate” dives into the depths of blackness, while “LA Psychic”‘s bassline is electric and moving. Finally, strike closes out VOL. II with a tough groove that is both dark and delicate. Stream below:
