Mart Avi shares new video – Lost Weekend

Estonian avant-pop stylist Mart Avi drops a video for the pulse-y song from his latest album Blade.

A sonic perfectionist, Avi has been producing music that is in harmony with his impeccable look. Shot on a black-and-while 16 mm tape, the video shows the animated auteur performing an enthralling dance and testing the limits of his charisma. Featuring a punchy bassline and cascading synths, Lost Weekend is a winner.

The video for the song was directed by award-winning Estonian filmmaker Ivar Murd. Talking about the minimalist aesthetics and the less-is-more principle, Avi says: “It was a matter of being determined and having the spirit to break through. Capturing it on precious film felt like making the biggest decision within a space of seven breaths and settling all scores between the anguish of the soul and the dark intentions one may fall prey to. Life is an addiction. This film is reality.”
