[hate5six] Vision – April 02, 2022

You can’t talk about NJHC without paying respect to VISION. Yesterday was the 5 year anniversary of the memorial show for Dave Franklin of Vision who passed away on January 5, 2017. Last night some of the members of Vision were joined by Tim Shaw (Ensign, Fuck It I Quit) and Josh Jurk (School Drugs) to do a short 4 song set to honor Dave and his memory at the Trinity Church in Asbury Park, NJ–just blocks from where the memorial show was held.

I didn’t know Dave that well but the few times we interacted in person he was always so supportive and appreciative of me. The last time I saw him was November 20, 2016 when I filmed Vision at Underground Arts in Philly. Dave was beaming that night and seemed hopeful about doing more things with the band. His passing was tragic but the amount of people and bands that paid respects to him at the 2017 memorial show spoke volumes about the impact he left.
