SAINT LEAGUE – UPSIDE DOWN

Artist Bio: Saint League came to life in the summer of 2016 by Max and Elia (Guitar/Voice and Drums respectively), both long time active musicians in the Italian alt-rock scene.
Max played guitars in Italy’s Guilty Method, signed under About Rock/Sony Music. The band released two albums, selling thousands of records domestically, and toured extensively in Italy and the Eu border regions. Notable opening acts were with Nevermore, Mudvayne and Flippaut Festival main day (Korn, Him & Soulfly).
Elia, once drummer in the HC act Before Today Collapses, has extensive experience in the HC and metalcore scene in northern Italy.
Andrea, ex bass player in Three Steps to the Ocean, joined the band in March 2017, bringing with him his long experience in the Italian post rock scene and a good track record of lives, either domestic or in the EU.
Max and Elia are communication designers: the former is one of the founders of entertainment and design firm Bonsaininja Studio, the latter works as a senior graphic designer in the same studio. Their musical and personal convergences brings them together and makes them able to connect their passion on top of the already formed professional relationship.
The resulting chemistry is key in writing material for a full length in just under seven months. Andrea distinguishes himself in the auditions thanks to his eclectic playstyle and enriches the band’s writing. The songs are thus mature enough to be ready to be released.
Saint League’s first single and video, “The Change”, uploaded on every major social network, represents the band’s voice, which is melodic but rough, moving between emotional, melancholy and energetic atmospheres.
The band has an EP out and is planning to release several singles soon.

About the Video: Hi, it’s Elia speaking. I’m the drummer of the band and I’m a graphic/motion designer. For this lyric video, I created a set of animated subjects taking inspiration from the spiritual world, tech dystopia, occult, horror and dark romance, to visually express some of the concepts that are told in the track. I then translated the visual identity into a campaign that understands merchandising, social network promotions, and an AR filter for Instagram.
