Omnigone- Against The Rest

I’m gonna begin this review with a post Adam Davis made explaining what ATRC is and means.

“Against the Rest Crew started in 1997. Link 80 didn’t fit in: too hard, too ska, too young. Other hardcore bands had “crews”, so it was stated that ours would be against all the rest. Soon it was on t-shirts, shouted in songs & tattooed on our skin. It has outlived the lifespan of the band & continues to this day. Calling our album “Against The Rest” carries a lot of weight. It felt fitting for an album that pays respect to our past while pushing into the future. We hope that comes through clearly.

The album opens with the title track that’s just a come all who wanna be down with ATRC blistering ska core anthem that may be heavy enough to make your gauges go up a size. The next track that jumps the most at me is One More Minute that’s a more straight up ska punk track that really shows the full musical talent of this fuckin gnar unit. The rest of the record is just non stop ska core wonder that takes me back to my young days when I was first hearing Against All Authority and Suicide Machines in between smashing nazis. This album is dead heat with Faintest Idea for ska album of the year! So crank this loud enough that the neighbors know you’re fuckin serious about 2 step skanking!
