Hoping to help set some things straight on the White Supremacists. The media keeps only mentioning factions like Proud Boys who’ve sprung up in the last 5 years. This shit goes back and goes deep. Since the 1800’s the Klan has been around and is still active in every state of the continental U.S. Around the 1970’s or 80’s Neo-Nazis started happening broken into varying factions. There’s militias that operate out of training compounds throughout remote parts of this nation, they believe in what’s called RAHOWA (racial holy war) the shit we’ve been seeing play out. There’s the nazi gangs that I’ve seen around since the 90’s. These are the crazy white dudes with racist tats and meth. These hateful mutants have been building a cultural infrastructure for decades. They have music, record labels, clothing brands, publishing and a host of other cultural outlets to celebrate their hate. The movements we’ve seen with the rise of Trump are the culmination and mainstreaming of this work. Back in the 90’s through early 00’s there was Anti-Racist Action that would chase these guys out of punk shows and neighborhoods. After some firebombings and a badly planned public attack of White Nationalists in Chicago this whole thing fell off. With a lack of anti-racist enforcement at shows their tolerated underground presence likely helped them reach the levels we were seeing in 2015 through now. The motto was expose confront act. ARA had chapters throughout the country and anyone who was down could start one up with the goal of spreading anti-racist ideas. How you did this was up to the chapter. You didn’t necessarily have to fight every nazi goon to achieve it, but that may be required at times. If we’re gonna win our society back, we need to bring back ARA. Big events only fight racism in a broad stroke manner when we need to work block by block on a daily basis. Links below for further research and help taking action
