So Ana “Kasper” Kasparian has been straight on one lately. The K spelling in Kasper is excessively fitting for her by the way. For those who don’t know, this whole things started back in April with a thoughtless TERF rhetoric tweet she put out in late March. Everyone who could see the problem with the strange tweet about inclusive language did everything they could to gently point out how and why it’s a terf taking point. To help, many youtubers played a clip from now 11 months prior where Ana was making the exact same statement that inclusive language doesn’t exclude everyone. Like my not using gendered pronouns takes nothing away from those who do. It a flat ground, not a pie. Before getting further in I’ll say that for many years TYT has had a deeply important place for progressive and leftist discourse. All of my favorite leftist commentators other than Democracy Now were either directly or indirectly introduced via TYT. But that’s thier history and the present is erasing that. I’m not writing this to clout chase the drama or whatever. I have personal reasons and feel like I own any of my readers because I’ve uplifted numerous clips from that network in my articles and social media. Other than being a fan politically, TYT chats were where I first began expressing myself as non binary because it was so safe and supported. John’s read so many of my comments and either laughed at the joke or just supported me along with some audience members. So while I’m full on fuck Cenk and Ana on every possible level, these feelings do not extend to any TYT staff that disagree with their views. And any that do agree with Cenk and Ana, feel free to read this as though I am addressing you as well. Below will be hopefully all relevant video as there are topics or ways of addressing certain topics that aren’t mine to say for varying reasons. When this hole thing started fully back on April I was upset and hurt. Not by Ana saying some dumb shit because I’d already rage turned off tje main show when Ana was going full stay on your place on tje black trans activists who we’re protesting privileged swimmer girl. I was angry enough at some other bad take to even notice the trans women i n sports rant Cenk had gone into before. I’d already thought things were iff between other bad takes and the seemingly sudden end of the Twitch Shows. I absolutely loved Galaxy Brain and I’ll tell everyone that I was stoked that those shows beat my entry in twitch pitch because I’ve learned so much and I wasn’t at the level to have offered something that substantive then. So as Ana and Cenk have gone on a heavily anti trans, anti blackness full copaganda villain arc speed run, it makes me sad and frightened because how many centrists and not heavily grounded leftists are they turning into at least transphobic enough to not just simply accept us existing? And that’s the most charitable end of that presumption because we are in danger the same way 1930’s Getmany was for a different group that became demonized and scapegoat in the same way. I held on to TYT membership for another month because I’d forgotten to end it. Considering that the other hosts see little to none of that website membership, I couldn’t in good conscience keep giving any money to the network any longer. After the last 2 weeks it seems like the network is getting more unstable between 2 hosts and all of their mods quitting. John has publicly said he ain’t with this shit twice in a much more professional manner than that and Jayar was right with him on that. I’m not gonna get into opinions on the actions of the other hosts because it’s all presumptions that are only good for DMs. I can’t say that Cenk is making a right turn becaise he began as conservative and it’s much easier to go back to day 1 values than it is to change. Same reason I constantly default to far left. Ana, like a year and a half ago she said she wasn’t leftist but had friends who were. I don’t think she’s ever been left of Hilary Clinton but that’s based on my own views and metrics that are informed by my own lived experience. Having 2 of their black hosted shows end in about 24 hours isn’t a good look in the wake of those no matter who’s decision it is. Sadly much like Titan, Cenk and Ana have completely brought this down upon themselves after innumerable opportunities to build something to proper specs. I’m not putting this out to tell anyone how or what to think. Just adding my own view and why to the honestly important discourse.
