Hailing from Tampa, Florida and featuring three members of local heavyweights Point of Contact, Stedfast packs a punch. The tape I’ve got is an exclusive drop from Ugly & Proud Records for European fans, slamming together all six tracks from their 2021 Willing To Give demo tape and four teasers from the upcoming LP, which will be released later this year.
Forget any frills or fluff—these ten tracks are a straight smack in the face, dishing out raw hardcore power and real straight edge fury. Fast riffs, bone-crushing breakdowns, and furious vocals that scream lines like “wrong for you but right for me, until I can’t breathe I’m drug free” make this one a must-listen.
The demo’s a banger, but the promo tracks for the upcoming LP hit even harder. They’re thicker, more aggressive, and hint to bigger things coming our way. Lyrics are short and to the point—no poetic nonsense, just pure straight edge statements that get your blood boiling. Tracks like “World Of Lies” and “Walls Will Crumble” are packed with nonstop energy and a message that’s easy to get behind.
On my way to pick up this tape, I tried listening to Magnitude’s new LP and was a bit turned off by their overpolished sound. Stedfast’s offering, however, is the pure, unrefined drug free adrenaline I crave, echoing legends like Floorpunch, Mouthpiece, and xChorusx construction-gloves straight edge, but laced with the distinctive gruffer-than-gruff vocals and unwavering stance that Florida’s contemporary straight edge circuit is renowned for. If Stedfast is off your radar, it’s probably because they’re one of those Florida bands that shun all forms of modern vanity—no social media, no big announcements, just pure, untamed hardcore sound. And I’ve got mad respect for that.
